Bio

Born in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine and raised in Philadelphia,  Olia Varda is a multidisciplinary artist currently residing in New York City. 

As a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Art History and Museum Professions,  Olia emerged with a focus on photography, printmaking and painting and cites her background in acting as the frame for each.  In her most recent photography series, 'New Nostalgia', Olia chose an organic over industrial approach by building and modulating color and light. 

The work is both a natural phenomenon and finely calibrated visual experience expressed on cotton rag as the medium.
